Previous News PostsNEWS April 22, 2009:The Test databases for all eleven institutions have been upgraded to v19 on the new Linux server. We are testing functionality in the clients and working on Aleph table configuration. We are still hoping to release them and post client availability next week on Wednesday, April 29th. Our tentative plan is to have a scheduled webinar 'Introduction to v19' the next day on Thursday, April 30th at 2:00 pm EST. Unfortunately we have run into a problem with Course Reserves. One of the big changes in v19 is that Course Reserves has moved out of the web interface and into the client. We are currently working with ExLibris to resolve the problem. If it is not resolved by the end of the week, we will have to delay the release of the Test databases and the webinar until the second week of May, after the Eluna conference. We will keep you posted as soon as we know if it's a go next week, or if we will have to wait until the second week of May. NEWS April 7, 2009: Update for v19 upgrades:
NEWS March 20, 2009: New v19 Documentation has been posted to our website. From the Library Services page, you can now find the What's New in v19 - Release Notes for specific areas, the Systems Librarian Guide, and the lists of v19 Tables on Documentation v19. We will be adding information to this page as we develop additional documentation. Our next step is to begin the upgrade of all Test databases to v19 on our new Linux servers. We are still planning for a end of April release to all SULs. NEWS February 16, 2009: New V19 Documentation has been posted to our website. From the Library Services page, you can find all the chapters to the Staff User's Guide on Documentation V19. Of course we'll be adding information and documents to this page as we get farther along in the process. All Institutions on our Development server have been upgraded to V.19. FCLA librarians are looking at the new functionality and working on the necessary changes to the Aleph configuration tables. NEWS February 4, 2009: FCLA has successfully tested an upgrade on our Development server of a single institution to Version 19. The first 60 steps of the upgrade kit involve changes to the Aleph configuration tables and the next 20 steps are changes to the Oracle tables. We are currently in the process of testing and verifying these changes on the server and also checking functionality in the new Dev v.19 client. After upgrading all institutions on our Development server, we plan to begin the upgrades for each institution on our Test server. This spring we will provide a full v.19 Test client to library staff. Last modified 28 April 2009 at 11:26 am by ellen | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
