V.19 TIMELINE

  • Request to ExLibris in September 2008 for V.19 to be installed on FCLA's Development Server - DONE
  • ExLibris, along with FCLA staff, installs V.19 on DEV server October 31, 2008 - DONE
  • December 2008 CSUL decides if SULs will go to V.19 in 2009 - DONE
  • FCLA staff work on testing the upgrade process - IN PROCESS
    • First run on copy of small database - DONE
    • Upgrade all Dev institutions - DONE
  • FCLA librarians work on Aleph configuration changes and new functionality in Dev institutions - IN PROCESS
  • ExLibris installs V.18 and V.19 on Linux VMWARE - Week of March 2nd
  • FCLA setup environment on Linux servers for upgrading Test databases - First two weeks of March
    • Begin upgrade of new V.19 Test - Week of March 16th
      • Note: V.18 Test will not go away until after all institutions' Production upgrades.
  • FCLA librarians work on Aleph configuration changes - Mid-March through Production Upgrades
  • FCLA provides Intro to V.19 Webinars for library staff - Mid-April
  • FCLA provides full v.19 Test databases to library staff - End of April
  • Library staff tests new version: submit testing reports - April through Production Upgrades
    • verify no loss of V.18 functionality
    • Campus interfaces (such as patron loads and accounts payable)
    • Target development areas: permissions, course reserves, task manager, etc.
  • FCLA develops and provides onsite upgrade information - May/June
  • Production upgrades beginning July 2009 - Needs to be scheduled with SULs when FCLA has more information
