What is the source of QF records in Endeca?
- Currently QF records found in Endeca are contributed via a special extraction of QF data from NOTIS, done on a weekly basis.
- Beginning with the "QF load" visible in Endeca on January 7, 2008, the DLU01 records will be extracted and included in Endeca. Their counterparts in QF will be logically deleted and no longer extracted from NOTIS.
- More information about this extract from QF and load into Endeca:
- All 11 SULs will see them in their subset of the catalog.
- All QF records are included in this export EXCEPT for those with an 856 subfield x of "inzprocess" or no 856.
- The QF records are not deduplicated against the Aleph records.
- These records do not go through the Aleph export process which adds the necessary format terms for invoking the icons in the Endeca interface, except for those records exported from DLU01.
- The QF records don't have holdings in Endeca (since there are none in NOTIS). This means that they won't show up in the Library/Collection facet.
- This is a temporary measure. Eventually some QF records will be extracted from DLU01 and loaded into Endeca (beginning on January 7, 2008), and other QF records will be extracted from DigiTool for loading into Endeca. There should be no duplication of QF records loaded into Endeca.
